Writer | Editor | Communications Strategist
Throughout my career, I’ve been motivated by the challenge of finding the right words and uncovering the best strategies to communicate ideas. As a staffer and a freelancer, I’ve worked for media companies, public relations agencies, and membership and nonprofit organizations.
I’m dedicated to helping organizations develop communications strategies that ensure online, print, social media and public relations efforts effectively meet messaging objectives and are in line with overall business goals. A quick study, I’ve provided communications services for organizations in a variety of industries; however, my areas of expertise are multicultural issues, workplace diversity, professional development, health and healthcare, advertising and marketing. My insights have been quoted in several college textbooks and publications including The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, New York Daily News and Forbes.
My professional experience is bolstered by a master’s degree in media studies and Africana studies from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Florida A&M University. These degrees are supplemented with certificates in book and magazine publishing from New York University and diversity management from Cornell University.
